NKHR speaks to students from Yale University's Reach Out Korea team

On March 17, 2015, NKHR spoke to ten undergraduate students from Reach Out Korea at Yale University. The group spent their Spring Break learning about North Korean human rights from NGOs doing on-the-ground work in Seoul.

NKHR spoke to the students about all aspects of our work, from our international and domestic advocacy, to our North Korean youth education programs, to our refugee rescues. The students responded with insightful questions, asking, for example, about the influence NKHR has had on South Korean societal attitudes toward North Korean human rights, and next steps for the international community following the UN Commission of Inquirys 2014 report finding serious human rights violations in North Korea. The students expressed great interest in NKHR's use of art in our domestic and international campaigns through art exhibitions and concerts.  NKHR looks forward to welcoming Reach Out Korea again in future years.
