Our passionate volunteers and interns help NKHR with all aspects of our work, from our advocacy and campaigns, to educating North Korean youth.
For internships, we require a minimum commitment of 8 weeks, twice a week. Internship duties vary depending on the program but typically include research, assisting with events and fundraising, drafting letters and articles, proofreading, translating, and updating social media.
Internships for our North Korean youth programs may also include teaching and assisting with education and adjustment programs. Interns who work on North Korean youth programs must be comfortable speaking Korean and are required to participate in a special training. Due to government regulations, only Korean nationals are permitted to assist our Saturday program at the Hanawon Government Complex for newly-arrived North Koreans.
NKHR does not provide visa sponsorship or cover living expenses. Interns should arrange their own visa, housing, personal expenses, and medical insurance.
If you do not meet the requirements for an internship but would still like to get involved, you may be able to assist as a volunteer.
