High school students in South Korea are becoming increasingly interested in North Korean human rights and resettlement issues. NKHR encourages that interest by providing an educational human rights workshop for high school students during summer vacations. The workshop provides a general background on human rights concepts as well as on the human rights situation in North Korea and North Koreans’ integration in South Korea. The students also interact with their North Korean peers and visit sites related to North Korean human rights and resettlement. Alumni of the North Korean Human Rights Workshop are occasionally offered additional opportunities such as human rights trainings at the United Nations in Geneva and other international organizations.
